Fine Bone China Tea Set, beautifully decorated in nice bright violet colours, made by RH & SL Plant in Staffordshire. c.1907 England.
The backstamp Tuscan China England with the characteristic crown and wings, dates the set to circa 1907 (Art nouveau), making this set a genuine ANTIQUE (over 100 years old). The pattern number is hand-painted on some of the pieces and is #7659. Violets decorate the cups, saucers, side plates and tea cake dish and the scallops all around are trimmed in gold.
Excellent condition with no cracks or chips. 5 cups, 6 saucers, 5 side plates, and 1 tea cake plate.

Dimensions: The tea cup is nearly 8.5cm in diameter at the top and sits approx 6.5cm tall. The saucer is 14cm in diameter, the side plate is 17.5cm in diameter and the tea cake disk 24cm in diameter. Due to age and production methods at the time there is peppering and some pitting to the glaze in the tea cake dish. In detail the condition is as follows, as seen on close inspection: 1 of the 5 cups is not backstamped and 2 cups have no wear on the gold trim at all. All 5 side dishes are backstamped. 4 of the 6 saucers are not backstamped but they do have the pattern number.
