Anís del Mono contains anise seeds which are carefully selected so as to use premium quality seeds exclusively. Essential oil is then extracted from the seeds, which is what gives the product its characteristic aroma. The other ingredients are chemically pure water, refined and filtered sugar syrup and alcohol. The distillation process is carried out in the original 19th century copper stills. The factory was founded in Badalona in the year 1870, by the Bosch y Grau Brothers, as the label says, and it became one of Spain's leading brands of anise drinks. It's production system is artisanal, just as was used over 130 years ago
