French Antique Faïence Earthenware blue and white dessert plate 'Flore' pattern with floral pattern and decorated rim. Underneath is stamped with SARREGUEMINES U&C. Very romantic piece. c.1900-1919 France.

Sarreguemines was a factory in the eastern part of France that started producing ceramics before the French revolution. The factory finally closed it's doors in 2007 after over 200 years of production. Sarreguemines is one of the most prestigious factories in the history of French ceramics with two of the most famous artisans being Paul Utzschneider and Paul de Geiger, who during the 19th century oversaw the production of ceramic wall tiles and domestic items, such as cabinet plate and serving utensils.
