Genuine Spanish-made "alpargatas" espadrilles with woven herringbone top and jute sole.
Our men's espadrilles are all hand-sewn by artisans in Spain. These espadrilles are made out of cotton upper with a breathable natural jute bottom sole, insole white cotton for comfort and rubber sole for added durability. The jute sole, which is 100% natural, molds itself to the shape of the foot, and allows the skin to breathe.

The Hernanz family has been in business for five generations. Today, brothers Jesús and Antonio still make the basic kind of espadrille: two pieces of sturdy cotton sewn to a flat hemp sole by hand. But they have improved on the original model by gluing a piece of rubber to the sole to make the shoe more durable. They also make truly traditional pairs (Jesús calls them artisanal) with unadorned soles and threaded with hemp instead of cotton.
The simplicity of this shoe makes very versatile and therefore easy to match with all sorts of different styles. They are no longer limited to the Mediterranean, and can often be seen on the most fashionable and trendy feet. From Picasso to Dali, García Lorca, Ernst Hemingway, John F. Kennedy, Gary Cooper, John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart, even John Lennon... espadrilles are from the 30s, a classic of the spring/summer season.
