Lobo is one of the oldest shoe selling companies in Spain making the brand a sign of tradition and artesian work. It was founded in 1897 by Timoteo Lobo, who remains faithful to its very beginning motto: selling an original, traditional and craftsman handmade shoe. The quality of the shoes, the diversity in colors, and the confidence that the whole making process is entirely made in Spain, makes Calzados Lobo a reference in the shoe selling industry. This tiny shoe shop has been part of Old Madrid since 1897. The original façade and interior are intact, but there's an ever-changing queue of locals eager to get a new pair of espadrilles. Opened in 1897 and still featuring its original wooden counter and zinc roof, LOBO sells Spanish shoes, espadrilles, babuchas, high-heeled shoes originally worn in the Pyrenees, in a mass of colours. The red-trimmed store is family-run and located on a corner that's two-minutes south of Plaza Mayor.
Lobo also makes Mary Janes, babuchas, abarcas, ballet slippers, flamenco shoes, desert boots and other models. Carolina Herrera, one of the most contemporary influential designer’s choses Lobo as one of her favorite stores to buy espadrilles in Madrid whenever she visits her family in Spain. |
