This is a lovely and perfect French antique majolica plate set. Art Nouveau plate with flowers and relief made by Digoin Sarreguemines. c.1875.

Very good condition with no cracks or chips. Diameter: 21 cm.
Beautifully decorated with violet and golden mistletoeleaves and nice reliefs with a violet edge. Stamped on the back 'Sarreguemines & Digoin.’ 2L25 en creux.
These plates make great display pieces in dining rooms or throughout your home. Perfect for a Christmas table.

The factory finally closed it's doors in 2007 after over 200 years of production. Sarreguemines is one of the most prestigious factories in the history of French ceramics with two of the most famous artisans being Paul Utzschneider and Paul de Geiger, who during the 19th century oversaw the production of ceramic wall tiles and domestic items, such as cabinet plate and serving utensils. |
